Google acquires AI Startup Firm!

If you Still Think Google is all about Search, Think Again. There has been a Lot of Chatter lately regarding Google’s latest acquisitions to become the world leader in Artificial Intelligence.

According to a report from Re/code, Google has confirmed the acquisition of the UK-based artificial intelligence firm, DeepMind for $400 million.

According to a recent report by TechCrunch, Google were not the only company interested in  purchasing DeepMind, Facebook were rumored to be interested in acquiring the AI firm last year.

Very less is publicly known regarding what DeepMind exactly does, and adding more to the mystery regarding Google’s AI aspirations.

This latest acquisition follows Google’s recent purchase of seven robotics firms, including Meka, which makes humanoid robots.

Reports claim Google has also agreed to set up an ethics board to make sure the DeepMind AI technology isn’t ‘abused’.

This latest acquisition builds on other recent robotics and artificial intelligence-oriented buys by Google including DNNresearchWavii and Boston Dynamics.
